There are those who
think it really does not matter very much what you say and do just as long
as you believe in Jesus. This is a portion of the faith only doctrine
coupled once-saved-always-saved. But is that true? Certainly it is false.
Here is why!
While we shall be judged by the words Christ taught (John 12: 48), Paul teaches in Romans 2: 6 about the judgment and states, "who will render to every man according to his deeds." You might also check Second Corinthians 5: 10. So it does matter what we do and say! It has puzzled me how some otherwise intelligent people can dismiss the fact that so much of the New Testament is written specifically to Christians teaching them how to conduct their lives. If it doesn't matter, why all the Scripture on the subject? But we understand that it does matter, doesn't it? Our conduct shall be measured by the word of the Lord. |
