Some Get So Arrogant |

| Just listen to what
they say and read what they write. Some people think they can challenge
God because they think know better than He does. God asked Job,
"Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that
reproveth God, let him answer it" (Job 40:1). Paul addresses those
who found fault with the way God used Esau, Pharaoh and others, "Nay
but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed
say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?" (Romans
9:20). "For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his
counsellor?" (Romans 11:34). Isaiah asked who has instructed God?
(Isaiah 40:14). There are other verses that make the same inquiry.
Can you think of a way that men show themselves more foolish than to array their wisdom counter the wisdom of God? Yet, in sermons, creeds, commentaries, etc. you find man asserting his way superior to God's way. We wonder how one could ever think that highly of himself/herself. |
