Space to Repent

In the church at Thyatira (Revelation 2) there was either a women or an element of people the Lord called Jezebel. Knowing the kind of person the ancient Jezebel was (the wicked wife of Ahab who sought to kill God's prophets and a worshipper of Baal) we readily understand that he was speaking of one or more evil people. These people were in the church. The church was evidently tolerating them beyond the limits.

The church was warned against Jezebel but Jezebel was also given space (time, opportunity) to repent but she did not. Her doom was certain. But as we see the record on Jezebel of Thyatira, do we take advantage of the "space" God gives us to repent when we sin? We cannot dismiss sin as if it were nothing. It can and will damn us. Repent and live.
