Stay With the Ship |
||
Bible students are
familiar with the storm Paul and others encountered on the way to Rome
When it seemed the voyage would end in tragedy some attempted to escape by
lowering the lifeboats. But Paul warned that would not be successful
whereupon the boats were cut loose. But he said the best action was to
stay with the ship and not one would be lost.
The ship and its cargo was lost but all those that stayed with the ship survived. The same is true regarding our salvation. Salvation is in the church. In these troubled times we must not attempt others means of salvation but stay with the ship. None who remain faithful will be lost. This analogy does not imply the church will sink. The lesson to be learned is that the way of escape and salvation when all seems lost is to stay with the ship. |
