Still to Come?

Reams of paper and many words are spoken declaring how the Old Testament prophets foretold events yet to come, especially pertaining to Israel, Russia, Iran, etc. Taking obscure and difficult passages that pertained to ancient Israel and their return from captivity, some have imposed on the prophets forecasts of events yet future to us in world affairs, notably the Middle East.

The law and prophets were fulfilled according to Christ and the apostles. They have been taken out of the way and nailed to the cross. Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill" (Matt. 5:17).  Did He do it?

He further said, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" (Matt. 5:18). Well, they have passed. Isn't it plain they have been fulfilled?

Yet, we have these speculators declaring things of sensational bent about Israel and others yet to come from those same prophets. Why?
