Their Former Life |
||
Paul wrote to the
Roman Christians and referred to their manner of life before they
committed themselves to Christ. "What fruit had ye then in those
things whereof ye are now ashamed?" (Romans 6: 21). They had lived in
sin and had demonstrated weaknesses of the flesh. They had once yielded
themselves to serving uncleanness.
But what did that manner of life produce for them? Now, being "in Christ," they were ashamed of what their former life had produced. Well they might be, because it produced sin. The end result of the life they formerly lived produced spiritual death, separation from God, and condemnation. |
