Romans 11: 12 speaks
how the fall of the Jews had brought opportunity for salvation to all
mankind. The termination of the Law of Moses would be considered by the
Jew as a fall. But remember that God always intended and planned that
salvation be universally offered. The rejection of Christ by the Jews
hastened that opportunity being extended to the Gentiles.
Paul reasoned how the fall of the Jews brought opportunity to others, but how much more good could have been accomplished if the Jews had favorably responded to the gospel. Some did but most did not. That would have been a powerful influence for good to both Jew and Gentile. |
