Three Books Opened |

| The last verses of
Revelation 20 present to us the judgment. This along with other passages
gives us an insight to that momentous occasion. Not everyone will agree
with what I believe on this because I think there are three books opened
while others consider only two. It really will not affect the judgment one
way or another which you believe but the fact that books will be opened
and we shall be judged out of those books does make a considerable
difference in this life and eternity.
Verse 12 mentions "books" (plural) which means at least two and then "another book" which would make three. The first book is the "book of life" of which Paul speaks in Philippians 4:3 which is the names of the saved. Book number two is the standard by which we shall be judged which is the word of the Lord (John 12:48). Then there is the record of our life (verse 13). What we want to make sure is that our record does not does not cause us to be blotted out of the book of life (Revelation 3:5). We have the standard of measure to be used (the Bible). We want our record to harmonize with the standard then we can be assured our names remain in the book of life. |
