The Time He Chose |

Jesus could not have
chosen a time when Jerusalem was more crowded and intense with religious
feeling than the time He made His entry into Jerusalem. The Jews in
Palestine and elsewhere had thronged to keep the Passover. Josephus, the
Jewish historian of the first century, suggests possibly as many as three
million people were in the city. That number does seem very large.
The Passover was one of the most sacred and best observed Jewish celebrations. Jesus could not have chosen a time with greater opportunity to accentuate His message, but neither would there be a time when there would be more opposition. It all goes to prove how deliberate He was in doing the Father's will. |
