Unnamed but a Great Help |
||
It is not unusual
for some to do good in order to receive honors and notoriety. Unless that
follows they do not feel their efforts are worthwhile. That is a big
mistake. Many unnamed person have done great deeds and been of benefit to
others without fame.
In First Samuel chapter fourteen we read of Jonathan's armor bearer. Jonathan saw an opportunity to inflict damage on the Philistines even though he was outnumbered. He was persuaded the Lord could save by many or by few. But he received great encouragement from his unnamed servant. The servant told Jonathan, "Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold I am with thee according to thy heart" (1 Sa. 13: 6). It is such a lift in life to know there are those who stand with you. "I am with thee." |
