Was He a Campbellite? |
||
Some members of
denominations ignorantly cast slurs at brethren as being Campbellites.
When we agree with something Campbell taught they like to smear us that
way. It never occurs to them that we believe something because the Bible
teaches it just like he believed it and for the same reason. But they
expose themselves sometimes.
Campbell said, regarding instrumental music, "Such aids would be as a cowbell in a concert." Charles Spurgeon, a Baptist preacher of London for twenty years to ten thousand each week said, "I would as soon pray to God with machinery as to sing to God with machinery." He never allowed it in his services. Now I wonder! Was Spurgeon a Campbellite? Is it not strange how those in error can get themselves so crossed and confused? |
