We All Know This, But... |
||
We have been
correctly taught that we do what we do by the authority of Christ (Col. 3:
21). We know there is no authority to celebrate as a religious day
Christmas as the birthday of Christ. So we don't do it. Through the years
some brethren have been very opposed to even wishing others a Merry
Christmas. They will say have a good holiday. But what holiday? It seems
rather inconsistent and confusing to try to dodge the fact that it is
Christmas season. So I don't.
Especially this year do I wish others a Merry Christmas because there are those who wish to drive anything about Christ out of our society regardless of what it involves. While I realize we do not celebrate the Lord's birthday I will not join those who want to shun Him . So I wish you all a Merry Christmas as I have done these many years. |
