We Can Have That Same Confidence

God gave Abraham great promises. Among them include being the father of a great nation and through His seed all the families of the earth would be blessed. This was an amazing promise inasmuch as Abraham had no children, Sarah had always been barren and both were advanced in years.

But Abraham's faith in God keeping His promises never wavered. Romans 4:21, "And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform." Even the episode with Hagar was not a matter of a lost faith but only a misguided effort to assist God in keeping His promise. Abraham and Sarah made a futile effort.

In time a son was born to them named Isaac, then Jacob and his twelve sons and the nation of Israel. The seed promise was fulfilled in Christ (Galatians 3:16). We can have this same confidence in God's promises.
