Weary in Well Doing |
||
Galatians 6:9,
"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall
reap if we faint not." We all understand that Paul was encouraging
faithfulness, steadfastness, "keep on keeping on" in the way of
the Lord regardless of what difficulties may arise from time to time.
Don't quit.
But isn't there another sense we could take these words? Doing good is the way of the Christian. Have you ever met somebody who said, "I am so tired, but it is such a good tired." That was because they became weary doing good. We do well to become weary doing good while we never should become weary of well doing. Paul did not have this second sense in mind but it is still worthy of our consideration, isn't it? Brethren let us get tired by doing good. |
