What Isaac Knew |
||
Isaac knew his
father believed, trusted and worshipped God. When his father took him on a
journey to offer sacrifice it was not a strange event to Isaac. What
followed was strange.
When the altar was built and Isaac asked regarding the sacrifice (Abraham already knew what God had instructed him to do) Isaac was told that God would provide. This evidently satisfied Isaac even though he must have been confused when Abraham prepared him for the offering. But there was no word complaint. Isaac knew of God's promises to his father. He knew he was his son that he loved. He doubtless did not understand what was taking place but he knew that his father put the will of God first before everything else. Therefore, he submitted. Would than all children could know their father placed the will of God before everything else. Such a change for the good would occur in our world. |
