What Was Their Problem? |
||
There are some
things we know because Scripture tells us. There are other things we
cannot because Scripture does not tell us. This seems to be a difficult
lesson for many to learn. There were two sisters in the Lord in the church
at Philippi that had some difference between them of which the apostle
Paul took note. What that difference was we do not know. But one thing we
can know. Paul wanted them to "be of the same mind in the Lord."
Whatever was the problem is needed to be resolved for the sake of unity.
It was the only notation in Philippians that had a negative tone.
Can we learn to resolve our problems rather than divide and tear up the church over them? Doctrinal matters are determined by Scripture. Matters of opinion should be tolerated as being indifferent. I wonder how soon these sisters got busy and got together. |
