Why Be One? |

| Most certainly there
are many good and moral people who join denominations. But I wonder why?
You never read of such a thing in Scripture. Their leaders and members
admit you do not need to belong to their denomination to be saved and go
to heaven. But is not that our primary goal? There is no way we can earn
salvation by our own goodness.
On the other hand, it is necessary to be a Christian to be saved and have the hope of glory (Acts 4:12; John 14:6). Christ saves the body and the body is His church (Eph. 5:23). Then why not be content to be added to the Lord's church by obeying the gospel and dismiss all of the denominations for what they are, namely, counterfeits of the real body. This is the plea of the churches of Christ. Take God's Word and take God at His Word and learn His way of salvation. Then follow it without being encumbered with religions originating with men. |
