Why Bother? |
||
John Calvin, father
of the false doctrines of Calvinism, contended that God had predestinated
which individuals would be saved and lost before they were ever born and
that nothing would or could be done to alter the inevitable eternal
destiny of such people.
If that be true, why did Christ come? Why the invitation? Why the plan of salvation? Why the commands that must be obeyed? What difference would it make whether one obeyed God or not? Why not just do whatever you wish, good, bad or otherwise since everything is already set and cannot be changed? Why bother with Christianity or anything else? What a hopeless and damnable doctrine that suggests God damns us before we are born and then binds us to it without any chance of being saved! We wonder why otherwise intelligent people swallow that kind of religious malarkey. |
