Winding the Clock |
||
There are three or
four clocks at my house that have to be wound every Saturday morning. Last
week it occurred to me that several lessons can be learned while winding
the clock.
Things tend to run down and need reviving. Time has slipped by so rapidly. How did we use it? Winding the clock expresses expectation for the future. We anticipate more things coming our way both good and bad. But we wind the clock with optimism. And we hope we will still be around to wind it next week. Someone has said that time is the stuff from which life is made. But that is not the sum of it. What we do from winding to winding makes the difference, doesn't it? Do you have a clock you wind? Wind it in hope and think about last week and the week that is before you. I love clocks. |
