Wise But So Unwise |
||
Someone has said you
are either wise or otherwise. Solomon is supposed to have been a man who
excelled in wisdom. Yet he did some of the most foolish things a man could
do. His failure to obey the commandments of God proved him to be unwise.
Jesus taught the difference between wisdom and foolishness in terms of
obedience and disobedience. On that scale, though Solomon had great wisdom
in some things, he really showed how unwise he was.
We can learn from Solomon if we will. Of course, many will not even consider the lessons taught. But when we choose to obey the Lord we show wisdom. Regardless of whatever else we may say and do, if we disobey God we are foolish and that foolishness will show itself in the judgment if not sooner. |
