The Word Did Not Change |
||
Bible students know
the record of Moses being in Mt. Sinai longer than some below thought he
should be and they took upon themselves to turn to idolatry with Aaron
fashioning them the golden calf. When Moses did return he was so angered
he threw down the tablets of stone on which were written the Ten
Commandment and broke the tablets. But he did not and could not break the
commandments that way.
When God called him back into the mountain he had Moses to hew two more tablets upon which God wrote the commandments again. But they were the same as before. They changed not. Man's rebellion and anger did not affect the Law of God. It did not on that occasion nor does it do so even yet. We need to learn that man's displeasure does not alter what God has said. We should quit trying to convert God to us. |
