Worship Services Hit |
||
Many churches have
some special service some time during the Christmas holidays. But
attendance at regular services takes a steep decline most of the time,
according to reports that I read. It makes you wonder how sincere are all
these "I love Jesus" comments that we hear. Some seldom bother
to worship at all except at Christmas and Easter. I never have figured out
why they bother at all. Talk about an effort to soothe the conscience
without committing yourself to the Lord, this fits the description.
One thing so noticeable during the holidays is the hypocrisy. There is little carry-over into the next year of all this activity about religion. People fuss about Christmas being a religious "holyday" (which it isn't) but have little display of genuine concern the other 364 days (maybe 363). What must God think! |
